This is MY Story

"Some blessings come soon, some blessings come late, and some don't come until heaven; but for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ they come." -Jeffrey Holland.

Who am I? That might be the million dollar question! The easy answers are; a mom, wife, sister, daughter, friend, employee, neighbor, and a runner. But like everyone else, there is so much more. What I'm here to talk about is my journey through depression and the way running and depression have helped me learn many, many lessons.

The life I live is a beautiful life! It's what I've always dreamed about. We live in a small(ish) town where I have deep roots. I live in a beautiful house on land that my dad once farmed. I have four amazing children (who I worked and prayed long and hard for)

and a loving, loyal and devoted husband.

I have two sisters who are my best friends, we have amazing adventures together and we're hilarious- just ask us!

I have a mom who is always there for me and will drop everything to help me or my children and we have the craziest times together.

We are very active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I have an incredible testimony of a loving Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I have in-laws who we have fun with and will jump in and help and support us when needed.

I have friends and running buddies that the rest of you would give your right arm, leg and eye to have.

BUT I also have depression. That "but" is big! And this blog is MY story about how depression has changed my life in numerous ways- both good and bad. Because there is always beauty, good, and hope even in the most ugly, bad, and hopeless situations, even if we can't always see it. Hopefully this blog will help me, and maybe you, remember the beauty and good.

If you've ever tried to live with depression or love someone who has, which is probably everyone, this is an excellent video. It was put out by World Health Organization.
